Toyota Corolla (E170): Shifting the shift lever to R
Shift the shift lever to R while lifting up the ring section.
■Maximum allowable speeds
Observe the following maximum allowable speeds in each gear when maximum acceleration is necessary.

■To prevent damage to the transmission
●Do not lift up the ring section except when shifting the lever to R.
●Shift the shift lever to R only when the vehicle is stationary.
●Do not shift the shift lever to R without depressing the clutch pedal.

Engine oil
With the engine at operating temperature and turned off, check the oil level
on the dipstick.
■ Checking the engine oil
1 Park the vehicle on level ground. After warming up the engine and turning it
off, wait more than 5 minutes for the oil to drain back into the bottom of the engine.
