Toyota Corolla (E120): Inspection procedure

1 Check side squib(lh) circuit(airbag sensor assy center – front seat airbag assy lh)

1. Disconnect the negative (–) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
2.  disconnect the connectors between the airbag sensor assy center and the front seat airbag assy (lh).
3.  release the airbag activation prevention mechanism of the connector (on the airbag sensor assy center side) between the airbag sensor assy center and the front seat airbag assy (lh) .
4.  for the connector (on the front seat airbag assy side) between the airbag sensor assy center and the front seat airbag assy (lh), measure the resistance between sfl+ and sfl–.

   Ok: resistance: 1 mw or higher

2 Check air bag sensor assy center

Sst 09843–18040

1. Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assy center.
2.  using a service wire, connect sfl+ and sfl– of the connector (on the front seat airbag assy side) between the airbag sensor assy center and the front seat airbag assy (lh).
3.  connect the negative (–) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
4.  turn the ignition switch to on, and wait at least for 20 seconds.
5.  clear the dtc stored in memory .
6.  turn the ignition switch to lock, and wait at least for 20 seconds.
7.  turn the ignition switch to on, and wait at least for 20 seconds.
8.  check the dtc .

   Ok: dtc b0115/47 is not output.

3 Check side squib(lh)

Sst 09843–18040

1. Turn the ignition switch to lock.
2.  disconnect the negative (–) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
3.  connect the front seat airbag assy (lh) connector.
4.  connect the negative (–) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
5.  turn the ignition switch to on, and wait at least for 20 seconds.
6.  clear the dtc stored in memory .
7.  turn the ignition switch to lock, and wait at least for 20 seconds.
8.  turn the ignition switch to on, and wait at least for 20 seconds.
9.  check the dtc .

   Ok: dtc b0115/47 is not output.
