Toyota Corolla (E170): Before jacking up the vehicle
● Stop the vehicle on a hard, flat surface.
● Set the parking brake.
● Shift the shift lever to P (automatic transmission or continuously variable transmission) or R (manual transmission).
● Stop the engine.
● Turn on the emergency flashers.

With the engine at operating temperature and turned off, check the oil level
on the dipstick.

1 Park the vehicle on level ground. After warming up the engine and turning it
off, wait more than 5 minutes for the oil to drain back into the bottom of the engine.

Circuit description
The d squib circuit consists of the airbag sensor assy center, spiral cable
sub–assy and horn button assy.
It causes the srs to deploy when the srs deployment conditions are satisfied.
Dtc b1180/17 is recorded when a short is detected in the d squib circuit (2nd
step).

1 Check harness and connector(transmission control switch –
body ground)
Disconnect the transmission control switch connector of
shift lever assy.
measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the
table below.
